Technology
There was a world not that long ago where technology did not control our every move. I remember at my grandmas house loading the coal stove in the basement at 6 am with my Aunt Minah. It was Freezing. We had push button lights. They cut the lawn with a non-motorized machine. Manual labor was a thing back then. No dishwashers. Wringer washers and a clothesline did the trick for laundry, but it was work. Everything was work. It seems to correlate, more free time has led to more mischief and confusion. Wickedness has a face. It is worldliness. Technology has ushered in an age of self-pleasure that has never been more indulgent. The scriptures talk about the days of Noah being exactly like our current situation.
2 Timothy 3:2-4
Self Absorbed Love
lovers of [sensual] pleasure rather than lovers of God,
It is a “who cares society”. Sin rules the day, but you can’t call it sin. You aren’t allowed to call a spade a spade. There is a man in the Bible named Lot. Lots’ city liked the good life a lot. Much self pleasure in that great city of Sodom and Gomorrah (noun. a place notorious for vice or corruption). They like the people of Noahs time kindled the wrath of God.
GOD Speaks
37 For the coming of the Son of Man (the Messiah) will be just like the days of Noah. 38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the [very] day when Noah entered the ark, 39 and they did not know or understand until the flood came and swept them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be [unexpected judgment].
BTW the great city of Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed by “sulfur and fire” because of their wickedness. Genesis 19:24
Because our Great God IS Love He can’t tolerate pedophilia, sodomy and gender-mutilation to be taught in schools! Come on Man. Really? Sexually fantasizing men reading stories at public libraries, is living out their FANTASY. Children are their playmates. This is sick. This hurts God’s heart. Do we care?
God is Grace
God amazingly would have given Sodom a way out if Lot could find anybody who wanted God’s forgiveness. I know I do! I’ve lied, I’ve cheated and I know I don’t give back as much as I’ve been given. Grace is like a big tub of hot, soapy water with a huge rag it scrubs you clean. You feel great and refreshed.
Treat technology like the tool that it is. AI is in a tug of war for your mind. The “worldliness” that it is constantly imprinting on our minds is devastating. Our babies are bombarded with technology from conception. It’s true, babies can hear in the womb. Can you tell me the constant stream of ads, ideas and current amoral mantra has not affected you?
Peace and Safety is Available
Counselors rarely allow a client to leave a session in a bad spot. Neither do I want to leave you wondering if there is Hope. Absolutely! Forgiveness is available in huge supply. The peace that comes from confession is astounding. Agreeing with God that you need Him is the first step. That’s called repentance. Jesus didn’t come for life style modifications. He came to set you free. He makes you His child. It’s cause for celebration.
