Cats are very cautious.
You might even call them anxious. Hence the name “scardy cat”. I call my anxious attitude paranoia. It’s a real thing. I’ve had several types and that’s why I can talk about a cure! Been there, done that.
Whatever causes your paranoia
its likely a form of PTSD. At age 10 my father was a raging drunk who liked to drive at excessive speeds. On one occasion I recall seeing the Buicks speedometer pass 100 mph. Semi trucks were a blur as we soared pass them. I was scared. Now I relive the fear when I’m on the interstate. My whole body gets involved: racing heart, fast breathing, sweaty palms and trembling. We remember our trauma. and have physical reaction. Jesus offers instant peace in the middle of any crisis.
The Cure takes Faith
Long road trips are monotonous, EXCEPT in big cities. Case in point driving thru downtown Nashville during rush hour, I was about to miss my exit. Singing the song, “Safe Am I”, I merged not knowing what would happen to the other cars in my way. Faith is unseen but so POWERFUL. The Red Sea parted and the cars seemed to disappear. To this day I don’t know where they went.
Here are the three things
I do to remain calm in the midst of a trigger event.
- Call on Jesus, simple emergency prayer “HELP”
- Ask for Angel support
- Sing Praise to God for His Safety
Works 100%. It is very hard to “let Go” of the fear, but it is freeing. When I receive the calm that comes through believing that God has this situation, this crazy fear under control…what beautiful peace comes. My breathing returns to normal, heart rate slows and I can smile. Nothing on the outside has to change, it happens on the inside.
