With the onset of ChatGPT, AI has hurled itself into the spot light. ARTIFICIAL intelligence. What’s missing from AI? A soul. A Spirit. A reason for being. The breath of Life. A comprehension of Love.

Because I was born mid last century I can remember the birth of the bot. Shrouded in fear we watched house-sized computers terrorize society on television. The field of Artificial Intelligence was made official at Dartmouth Summer Research Project on Artificial Intelligence orchestrated by John McCarthy in 1956.

We’ve come a long way baby! We have come to rely on and be obedient to AI. It’s everywhere. We laugh about it. We are amazed by it. We idolize Artificial intelligence. It drives our cars. Answers our questions. Frankly, meets our needs.Demands our attention.

But “What about God?” Researching a story on the advent and progression of computers, the film “What about Bob?” came to mind. Bob was a nuisance, just his presence annoyed Richard Dreyfus. God is all around us, everywhere present, keeping us alive. The majority of people don’t really want to be bothered by God. That’s a problem.

In the book of Matthew Jesus is trying to teach his disciples, who could be a little slow at times, the value of His Kingdom over a life of pleasures and riches here on earth. Let me stop for a moment and point out AI feeds you advertisements. Feeds you the golden cow idea, worship yourself. Worship: fun vacations, a beautiful body, self indulgence, gold and silver, great and fast foods…do you see a pattern here of me, me, me first. Matthew 6:21 “Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be”. NLT

Yes, Jesus says take up your cross and follow me, but that’s because you have a a bank account in heaven. This stored treasure is safe. It can’t be stolen, doesn’t rust, rat’s can’t eat it. So basically why would I save what I can’t keep instead of keeping what I can’t lose?

Following Jesus is not a piece of cake. There are issues. Namely your own. He will make you face your fears. He will walk with you and comfort you and GROW YOU UP. Facing your own demons is desperately HARD. Wouldn’t you rather get that outta the way here on the planet. I’m just sayin the after life is for partying and fun celebration.

He is there to catch your tears. He is there to calm your fears. The Father-Creator God is NOT Artificial Intelligence. He is the Source. He is the Life Giver. He is the Lover of our Souls. Be careful who and what you lay your life down to. May I repeat AI is not your friend. Use it, don’t always trust it and vet it. Evaluate its source, whether it be of God.

Love for God and One Another

1 ¶ Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,

3 and every spirit that does not confess thatfn Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

4 ¶ You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

5 They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them.

6 We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
