Resort to Reason

Do you think rationally?

Really? How do you know? Do you trust your parents or caregivers to have given you sound advice? Or maybe you trust your peers to have it all together. Maybe you are in process of “finding yourself”. You are the center of your story. You appear in every act. You’re the only one who thinks your thoughts or feels your emotions. You have to trust yourself to maintain sanity. You have to have reasons for your faith in yourself, because you are the hero that brings you to answers and reasons for life.

When I was a child

one of my recurring dreams involved being stranded on a tiny string. In a totally dark atmosphere I tried to balance between the earth and the moon on a piece of thread. It expanded the distance between our planet and its’ moon. I was filled with terror. Hopelessness and fear seized my heart. I could see myself. Three times I had this dream. It literally scared the “hell” out of me. My heart races now recalling the memory. If I could find a reasonable faith, a reason to believe, I would give my life in exchange for safety from that nightmare.

No Hope

Faith is rational. Blind faith is NOT rational. If I’m given a car and told the condition of the brakes is unknown (I’ve owned these cars), do I trust them? No! I check the brake fluid. Say someone hands you a plate of food at a party, you look at it without a second thought. If the Cole slaw sat out too long you’re a goner in less than an hour. Do you realize that’s exactly how you are dealing with your spiritual life? Hope so, think so, don’t really know if I understand. But does it really matter what I think about the “after life” AND the now life too? It absolutely means everything what you believe!

Close your eyes

Imagine you are out in space, total darkness surrounds you. In the distance you can barely see the speak of earth off to one side. Equally far in the opposite direction is the moon. On a tightrope of barely a string, you try not to fall into the oblivion of darkness. Without the Christ you are lost in space. You have no anchor for your soul.

Proverbs 18:15 NLT

Intelligent people are always ready to learn. Their ears are open for knowledge.
Consider the words of Jesus:
John 14:6
The Long and the Short of it: Seek Rational truth, it will set YOU FREE FOR ETERNITY.
