I have to admit I’ve spent time watching murder mysteries, true crime. The problem is that people are selfish. That’s what causes 100% of all murders. Someone stands to profit by the death of another. Sex and/or money are selfish motives. So basically we are driven by our own wants, needs and desires. Hopefully we are civilized and respect the boundaries of others. Some of us are so damaged emotionally boundaries don’t exist. If they do exist they were hard earned.
Finding and keeping emotional stability is a real trick in this world. I think we can all agree, we see our OWN point of view first. That’s natural. It’s the part about trying to see from another perspective, stand in someone else shoes that’s hard. I don’t mean to beat a dead horse, but we actually feel our own pain and joy. We can’t do that for anyone else, we can only guess.
Deny yourself. When I purchased some blueberry plants lately, they told me to pluck off the flowering berries before I transplant them. The flowers suck all the energy out of the plant. Energy that it needs to produce abundant berries after its established. Deny yourself immediate pleasure for long term success. In other words choose not to steal, lie or cheat, even in the small things. This is how you build character. Personal integrity puts you on the path to blossoming.
