Time and work equal recovery.
When your body has been through trauma it takes time to recover. When your spirit and soul are crushed it may take years. We are supper vulnerable as children and have little defense against abusers. Think about what the creator says, sin against children is sin against Him. God is all about search, rescue and recovery.
Children matter to God a great deal!
Suffer the little children to come unto me for such is the kingdom of heaven.
It is better to have a millstone (concrete block) tied around your foot and cast into the sea than to often a cause one of these little ones to sin. There will be a day of judgement. God is not pleased with sacrificing children. Politicizing the security, safety and ultimate sanity of new humans is dead wrong. You may have been a victim, but you only remain one if you allow yourself to be. But if you, by your own volition, choose to hunger and thirst after righteousness, you can break the cycle of abuse.
Jesus says, Matthew 18:6 New International Version
Causing to stumble
6 ‘If anyone causes one of these little ones – those who believe in me – to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung round their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.
GOD hates for children to be abused. He hates the results. Father, is looking for you now! Come to Him as a little child. Come in amazement, acceptance and respect. Come as you are. Children aren’t concerned by their looks, they run to you with open arms. Accept the Lord for WHO He is. Run to Him. He’s waiting. The good guys get a bad rap. God is a very Good guy. God is patient, kind and full of love. He wants to rescue you from darkness but like a scared kitten you try to escape Him. 
He will aid you, if not carry you through your recovery. Come as child to their sweet loving Daddy. Imagine how your life would change if you surrendered to His care. Like that little kitten who’s deathly afraid if she’ll just trust she will find safety and nurturing and constant care.
God has a lot to say about children. He loves them and He loves you.
Come as a little Children
A child believes you have their best interest at heart, doesn’t try to impress with doctorates and degrees. Small children are loving and forgiving. It’s a hard place to return to when you’ve been screwed over by the world of people, all seeking their own pleasures.
- It’s ok to take your time in healing. God is patient He knows what you have been through.
- If you have been abused, you are likely to abuse (this is a sad fact. I didn’t realize my insecurity, caused by a violent mistrust of men, made me accusatory and aggressively angry. This is abuse.)
- Only You can change the course of your life. First you admit to yourself you were violated, you place responsibility for the actions of those responsible for them on THEM. Next you take responsibility for your own life. No one can change your outcomes but you.
- You are not Alone in this battle. The comforter will walk beside you.
- The steps are only “one at a time”.
- Come to Jesus.
