Do not harden your heart…Hebrews 3:15 Amplified Bible

What constitutes a day? Twenty-four hours? God says “Hear Me Now!, while there is still time. You know we “make time” for things that really matter. How is it possible to “make time”? It’s called allocation and prioritizing. Is Father God on your to do list? Went to church this week, check. Was kind to neighbor once, check. Gave some money at a church, check. Read daily devotion, check. But when you actually LOVE someone they are always on your mind. There is no checking the boxes on a “to do” list. It’s not laborious to Love. It’s the most euphoric feeling available to mankind. Love is liberating and exhilarating. New love is especially satisfying. That first look at your new baby, the first holding hands of a young love. It’s Pure. It’s Peaceable. It’s hard to find. It makes me giggle when I think of God as the elephant in the room. How big is God’s LOVE? Unquantifiable. He is moving inside your spirit. HE IS AS NEAR AS THE BEATING OF YOUR HEART. But you can’t see Him. I am constantly reminded that He surrounds me in the very air I breathe. Doesn’t it feel great to breathe deeply woodland air after a spring rain. That’s love. Gifts like that. How can you not enjoy His creation, that’s Him expressing His Great, Eternal love for us. What’s the catch you say? What could He want from little old me? Your time. Your attention. Your Faith that He’s a good, Good Father. Why is it so freakin hard to love God? May I suggest we have another lover vying for our hearts attention, called me, myself and I. Sad really.

What does God want from you in a day. Your heart? Your attention? Some of your allocated time?

It’s a fair question, and God’s fine with you asking, please just listen when He answers! Put on your thinking caps as they use to say in kindergarten.

We often give ourselves away before we considered the heart of that person. There is so much heartbreak everywhere you look. Where there are people there is disappointment and sorrow. Divorce and disfunction, brokenness and sorrows. One big problem, happiness is the goal. Let me throw this out there for thought. Happiness is a by-product of love. It’s overflowing, spontaneous and filling. You might say bubbly. Think about that. You might get silly over a new love. You would harness the moon and serve her on a platter of gold surrounded by roses to express your love to a cherished object. Nothing is too big to give for the sake of love. Wow!
